Great post, thank you! And yeah Tutvid on YouTube is a great resource for graphic software tutorials. He doesn’t necessarily focus on creating screen printing artwork but you can learn a lot about the software from his videos:

This is an extremely good tutorial that walks through the process of turning a hand drawn image in to a vector using Adobe Illustrator.

It's a lengthy video, but the best I've seen on the subject and well worth the time if you would like to learn how to do this technique.

Thanks for sharing these links! I have zero formal training with Photoshop or Illustrator and now have both. I have really wanted to learn how to vectorize so I could help with customers that provide some not so ideal images for screen printing. I now have some learning to do!
