Printing large block on large block

Post by NIMRODOR »

Hi I'm trying to print a large pink football down on top of a large white football like the attachment and I'm having trouble with the white and pink the pink doesn't want to cover the white well or it leaves streaks and some times comes off in areas also it some times takes a small amount of the white off. This is the only one that came out so-so.

Its taking the white off? Are you flashing and is your off contact high enough? I may not be understanding the issue I guess. Lol. The streaks could be from leaving a 'trail' of ink after the printing. When you lift the squeegee it could drip a trail of ink on the print area if your not careful.

I think it was the off contact i was flashing I was just unsure because it worked on other large block of print before just not this white when I printed it the screen would touch and stick slightly and take the very top layer of white off where ever it touch. At least that what I think was the problem I went and figured out another way of doing it so I didn't have to print on a large block of white.

The screen sticking could be from not flashing long enough or by printing while the ink is still too hot.

Yes ApeShirt may be on to it so I’ll chime in.

Make sure you cure the white under print well. It only needs to be semi cured if it’s going through a belt dryer when it comes off the press. But with this volume of ink overprinting one another you need to make sure the surface of the white ink is fully gelled and “dry” to the touch. It should not be tacky or sticky.

Also after flashing the white allow enough time for the white ink surface to fully cool so it will not stick or pick up any white ink. This is critical and is why a rotating press with multiple pallets works best.

It gives you cool down stations for the flashed prints to cool before being printed on:

I hope that helps too.
