I am ready to try some discharge printing, watched your YouTube video this weekend and ordered the white you used in the clip.
My question is, what kind of emulsion should I use for the screen?
I've got Ulano DTX (pink) and Aquasol HV (blue)
Thanks in advance!

Re: Discharge printing emulsion recommendation
Hey there in Tucson!
I would use a well cured emulsion intended for water based inks. The key here will be making sure the emulsion is fully cured so it will not absorb chemicals and inks on press. That will be especially important with discharge inks.
In the video I used a photopolymer emulsion from Saati that when post cured is resistant to plastisol and water based inks. It’s called Textil PV:

But any decent quality emulsion will work for you if it is cured properly on small runs too. Once I printed some discharge base with a plastisol type emulsion just for a dozen shirts and the stencil was fine. I even used it again for plastisol inks after that. But generally speaking an emulsion for water based inks is preferred.

I know, small world!
That makes sense, I've got a small run planned at first, mainly just to see how it works out. I've wanted to try it for some time now!

Cool deal, let us know how it works out for you. Maybe you can tell us what you used and what you printed. I'm sure it would help out others. Don't forget you can use pictures and embed YouTube videos here too!
