T-Shirt Mannequin?

Post by Ochtees »

I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion for a good t shirt mannequin? And maybe lighting setup? We need a bust or something to put finished shirts on for pictures!

Thanks in advance

I think I can help with this. This is where I bought my torso forms to photograph tee shirts.

As far as the lighting goes you will want to use very diffused daylight balanced light. You can use the same types of bulbs I use for my videos:

Scroll down to the bottom and use the Amazon link for the lighting. I will also do a video on this as I used to do product photography in NYC. Stay tuned....

Great question, wish I had known about that website, had a time getting a torso I ordered from another company. Will definitely order from the one you posted next time!

Since I have done a lot of product photography in Manhattan I figured I could help out here with some general tips on how to shoot tee shirts on mannequins or shirt forms. Please visit catspitproductionsllc.com and check out the details on how the videos are made as well as what type of lighting I use for both videos and still photographs:

You’ll find the Amazon links for the light bulbs I use at the bottom of the page! Good luck.

Thank you! I appreciate that. Remember to use a tripod and turn off the flash. I think I'll make another video where we actually set it up with a camera, tripod, shirt and a finished product shoot slide show. Stay tuned for more about photographing your screen printed products in the future :)

Thanks for your support! Good luck, please feel free to share any of your insights or test photo's here ;)

Actually I know it isn't "screen printing" but it very much so is now a day's because you want to get your Product out there for people to see! I have the hardest time taking pictures of that Safety Green. BUT I have not used your techniques yet.

When you work for yourself you learn to do a bit of everything and do it well. The challenges are ridiculous at times but the rewards can be great.

So this was a good topic to start and since I have done product photography it made sense to me.

Let us know how the safety green works out.
