Ink disappears after curing

Here you can discuss any issues related to working with plastisol screen printing inks. This would include curing, mixing colors, additives, brands, usages and much more.

Ink disappears after curing

Post by Bent-Tees »

Hello! I am currently printing a job that I forgot to knock out my white underbase where my black ink goes. I am in too far to turn back and redo stencil and really not a big deal graphicly. But I am experiencing an issue. The black ink is litterally disappearing where it is on top of my white underbase. Like it goes under the oven black but comes out faded, almost gone, back to white/grey color, like if you over cure plastisol on neoprene koozies. Printing on 50/50 shirts. Wilflex amazing bright white and Vortex black are the inks I am useing. Not curing any differently than I have any other job. Just wondered if there is a reason why. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

I've never seen this myself. But I use different inks of course ;) It must be something related to dye migration. I would recommend using a polyester white for the under base. Or perhaps there is an issue between the Vortex and Wilflex inks. But I would assume it's something occurring with the polyester garment.
