Using my rip...

Ok, so I recently bit the bullet and went full in on Illustrator and using my Filmmaker rip software since I paid so much for it. I got frustrated years ago trying to use it with little to no help on the web about it.
Well, I am getting the hang of it now and I was wondering about lpi count...
I have a design that has outlined text with white spot colors and inside the outline is a gradient, also spot color. When I send it to rip, do I need to set the white to any special setting before ripping it or can I use the same lpi that I use for the halftones?
The white is solid, no gradient.
Thanks again, still trying to learn as I go...
