Vector downloading/websites

Not sure if this has been brought up already but here goes,

I am not the worlds greatest artist and I get some requests for shirts sometimes that are pretty intense. They want certain stuff like skulls etc and on occasion they pull stuff of the internet that still has the watermarks on them. I don't want to use this stuff because of the licensing and copyrights.

So my question is, does anyone use websites like "shutter stock" or "dreams time" to get vector images and is it worth it...?

I would rather pay a monthly fee instead of getting sued...

I don't know anything about graphic websites except for the free ones.

But those can be limited. So we usually get volumes of clip art. Clip art can be collected from many sources and clip art volumes you purchase are intended for commercial screen printing usages.

THe free ones are ok but some come with a logo on them.

I would try a royalty free site with a pameny option but also remember that everyone else can access the same artwork.
You need to build up a clip art library as CAtsit hinted at, try looking around odd places like deviant art for ideas and then try cutting different bits from differnt pictures and stick them together and trace over them for an original piece.


OR find an artist that does work for a small fee.
