Screen Coating Direction

Hello,

Thanks so much for all of the help that your videos have provided to my company along the way here as we enter into the screen printing world!

I have a general question that returned no results when I tried searching for it. Does the direction in which you coat the screen with emulsion matter? I am coating it on the short side if that makes sense? Meaning that on a 20x24 screen, I coat bottom to top on the 20" length rather than your videos for instance, where you are coating the longer 24' direction. Should I be coating the direction that we print? Haven't really had any issues per se, but just a question that I've had going through my head for some time now.

Anyhow thanks again for all of your help!

Thanks for watching my videos. I’m glad I can help out through them. You’re very welcome.

The answer to your question is no. You can coat the screen either way and it will be fine. As long as the application is smooth and even the emulsion does not care what direction you sue to coat.

I hope that helps out. Good luck! Thanks for using the forum :)

I didn't figure it would, but knew it couldn't hurt to ask, thanks again!
