Press Problems

Post by ArtyMcFarty »

I bought myself a 4 color 1 station printing press for Christmas, because I was tired of my Yudu (OMG!). With more and more people wanting t-shirts from me, screen printing was more of a hassle than it was worth. I was excited when the press came in, and knew I would have to put it together. However, the instructions were horrendous and I pretty much had to figure it out myself. Long story short, I can't keep the press registered. No matter how tight I tighten the bolts, every time I pull the screen down the registration gets knocked out and leaves a mess on the shirt. You can see in the video that I the clamps are also digging into my aluminum frame. I've contacted the company I bought it from and they "assured me that once I got used to the press I would love it."

I knew I should have coughed up another $300 dollars for a better press. Anyway, if anyone has an suggestions or tips that would be great.

Okay this unfortunately is a case of a poorly made bench press. First the print head clamp has not bite plate so when you screw the clamps down they move the screen and dent the frame edge. That is how the press was designed and is not uncommon with bench presses. You have to compensate for that by pre-aligning out the opposite way.

I think this one focuses on bench presses and the screen clamp.

Let me know if that helps out.
