Just wanna say great videos and keep up the good work.

I have soooooo many questions it's unreal but i'll keep it short for the moment, I'm a complete newbie and I've watched so many videos I think my brain is fried and I'm starting to over think things.

OK, coating screens
When I coat my screens with emulsion, i'm getting streaks down each side, I think it's going over the edge, doe this mean i'm tilting my screen too much or is there something else i should be doing?

Burning screens
How do I line the graphics up to the screen? is there certain distances that a crest meeds to be from the top and side, same goes for other types of graphics. Also do you need to measure or do you just place the graphics on and get on with it.

Cleaning
Once you've finished screen printing, what's the first thing you do? The reason I ask is when i tried cleaning it, I made a complete mess with ink everywhere and I wasn't sure if there were certain steps you do first.

Emulsion streaks down the sides are generally caused by not tipping the scoop coater all the way onto the screen. If the edges of the coater aren't touching the screen then streaks can happen. Typically, streaks like that aren't an issue.
Placing transparencies on the screen is easier if you have a pre-registration board of some sort. Before I got one though I would use my t-square to line up my films on the screens. X amount of inches from the sides and from the top of the screen. It's usually best to use the top 2/3 of the screen for artwork. Stay at least 1" from the edges of the frame. That's the so-called "sweet spot". Going below the top 2/3 isn't bad though.
As far as cleaning up, the first thing is to take a cleanup card, spatula, putty knife or something similar and scrape the excess ink off and put it back into the container. Unless you are doing discharge. Then you throw the ink out if you won't be using it the same day.
