Is there a way to screen print on socks?

I haven't done it myself but I would make my own platen and it'd probably work great. Or maybe put a piece of cardboard inside it and try a single stroke.

Do you think that using some kind of stretchable vinyl would work too?

I never tried that either. They’re very stretchy so I would make sure the ink can take the stretch. Same with any vinyl. But I’m sure it’s possible with a little testing. Maybe a discharge ink would be best on a cotton sock.

Anyone have sock experience? LOL... ;)

lol... J-money. I'm sure Siser Easyweed Stretch would work fine. I've done quite a few cotton terry wrist sweatbands with it and those stretch a lot. Sublimation or other heat transfer are other options as well. RhinoTech has some fine transfer paper to use with either inkjet or laser printers.

There you go. Those are the details we want to hear :)

LOL.... Vinyl is not my forte so I don’t know how much about those products. Does it stay on such stretchy material well over washings?

Yes perhaps a heat transfer process. Good thinking. Maybe sublimation. I was thinking the sock will have all those bands of thick texture that will stretch open when you put them on. If it has that type of structure I would want to do a print that is in the fabric more than on it. But I suppose it really depends on the sock.

I just recently was reminded that even when you have printed an item before it can be a good idea to actually see it before you commit to printing it.... LOL ;)
