Has anyone attempted to print on acrylic beanies or an acrylic blend? I read someplace that a plastisol poly ink can be used but I'm nervous about attempting it before getting input from you guys I've searched all over for cotton or poly beanies but can't find them in the color the customer wants. They want a bright yellow hat with a black halftone design on the side. lol.

That is a tricky one. Not sure if there is anything specifically made for that material but as it is a synthetic I would test poly inks. Not sure if a little nylon bonding catalyst could help.

I would test it out for sure. Maybe Saati can help us here. They always have great technical info.

We distribute Marabu Ink. They have a ink designed for Sails. It is an airdry product called Maraflor TK. There are limited colors in the country at the moment since it is not so common of a product. I believe nazdar has a similar prodcuct. It is their DA series. I would think that is more redily avaialble. I am always nervous on syntehetics since they are so easily deformed with heat.

Thank you for the info Jonathan and Saati. I will look for those inks and do more research. Customer wants black ink on yellow hats so I think I will try some nylon additive in regular plastisol and try not to melt the hats

Great info. I am careful with the heat on synthetics as well. They can turn into shrinky dinks.... remember those?

Way off toppic but I just bought some shrinkydinks on Amazon as a gag gift. I should have used beanies LOL!

Just a quick update: the beanies turned out great with just normal plastisol with a very little bit of stretch additive. I didn't get pictures but a halftone worked on them fairly well. I did raise the flash drier to keep the heat more controlled but they didn't turn into shrinkydinks. Lol.
