Ranar knockdown rack
Hey Jonathan, do you know if the Ranar knockdown screen rack can hold 16x20" screens off-hand? I know you could always rig it with some thin metal slats to accommodate them, but I wondered if it could hold them out-of-the-box. I'm considering getting one to tuck into a corner to work as my storage & drying rack solution since I don't figure it would be much more than 3' x 3' square (if not smaller). I'd just need to figure out a good solution for blocking light from the sides and top without the need for a whole ton of mods or tools that I don't have. Maybe a dark tarp of some kind?

Yes sir, totally, from their product description:
24 capacity screen rack is adjustable and can hold screen frames between 20" and 25”

Yes, a heavy black, light proof tarp could do the trick if it is big enough. I did a conversion with mine using some coroplast and gaffers tape.
I extended the depth so I can fit 23x31 automatic screens.

Re: Ranar knockdown rack
I found something that may work and be a little easier for me than coroplast: black & white poly "panda film" (usually used in horticulture applications)
I think I can actually find it a little cheaper on eBay, but it seems that if you put it white-side out, it'll reflect 90%+ of the light & UV while the black layer absorbs the rest and makes it light-proof. If I go this route, I'll let everyone know how it works. It should go well enough for me though, since the room I'd be keeping the rack in has very little outside light coming from the windows (yay, venetian blinds) and just a single 60-100w bulb in the ceiling fan.

Re: Ranar knockdown rack
It may just work.
Before I had this homemade dry box I used to double up black contactor garbage bags and I stored my screens in a few of those.

The more I look at it, I think I may go with a job cart. For where I'm at right now, it's smaller, still holds all my screens, can be made light-proof with less material, plus I can use it to hold my supplies & such. That and if I go for an air flash soon, I can use the top of it as a surface for curing.
