Have an Idea?

This is the place to suggest or ask about new features of the forum. If you have any knowledge of the phpBB forum system please feel free to share that here. You can suggest codes to enable and features to activate as well as topic suggestions or other comments related to the forum.

Please remember I am new to moderating and modifying this forum so some things will be within my abilities while others will not. But we do have an IT guy now so the things I cannot do may still be able to happen given a little time.

I tried to set the forum up in a unique manner. I always see forums on screen printing with massive topics and commercial interests running rampant but I never saw one that was specifically set up for learning the process. They always seem to have topics that stray away from the process itself. Hence the forum categories and topics I have created here. I thought setting up the forum this way would be a valuable tool for the current Catspit audience while possibly being the first to set up a screenprinting forum in this manner.

If you have any questions about the use of this forum or allowable actions please feel free to ask here. I’ll be happy to help you contribute positively to the forum.

How do you like the way the forum is set up to cater to learning the steps of screen printing tee shirts?

I think it would be a great idea to have a "meet & greet" section of the forum where new people, like me, can introduce themselves.

I think the community section where you can share your social networking profiles would do for that. Tell us who you are and post a Twitter or Facebook link in the Networking category. Create your own new topic for yourself, your favorite social networking platform or your website. Check it out here:

Hi Jonathan, we are new to the automatic press (Just installed a TAS) I wonder if a section just on Autos and how to get the best out of them
would be a useful topic. Mate love your work and dedication to the craft. :D

That’s a good point. I basically set this up as a learn to screen print forum so I didn’t think much about automatic printing but there’s no reason why automatic screen printing topics couldn’t be addressed here. What I will do is change the description on a couple of the forum threads to reflect this. I think that is the easiest way to include automatic printing without changing the nature of the forum.

I’ll do that right away and then there will be no reason why you can’t post automatic topics under the appropriate category for the question or tip. Therefore anywhere on the forum would be fine to post about automatic printing just make sure to note that in the post if it is not apparent.

Thanks for the input and I think that little suggestion will open the forum up a lot. Thank you and thanks for signing up and contributing.

Was wondering if you would post a topic on the business side of the industry.... I know that in this area I could be the most help... I am going to be posting YouTube Video's on the different aspects of the business such as Marketing, Advertising and sales that are strictly for this industry... Like pricing per shirt and I will break down everything that I have done and that has worked out for me thus far. Although I do not have a video camera as of yet so I will be using my trusty built in web cam... lol...

You know I was thinking about adding a section for discussing customer relations and common procedures when dealing with people on print jobs.

I’ll create a special section for this in the main screen printing section.

We would love to have you share your posts about this topic so I’ll create the category and we’ll wait for you to start the posting :)

There is an app for iphone and android called Tapatalk. This allows forums to be much more navigable on mobile devices. It is a paid app for the user but it is free to add it to the Tapatalk database. I would love to see this forum added to Tapatalk! I use it for all forums that I am a member of and LOVE it. Makes it much easier to contribute while on the go...plus notifies you when you have replies or PM's.

Is there a way to set up an autoresponder to the system so that anyone who has made a remark, or statement gets an email when the query is answered?

The ability is already there, and it's a handy one too! Just go to the topic you want to receive notifications about, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click on "Subscribe Topic" :mrgreen:
