Let me ask you what type of screens are you using?
What mesh count are you using?
What durometer squeegee?
And is this a sweatshirt?
The push stroke can cause massive issues if you use too much pressure so the mesh count is critical here.
Also the off contact should be lower rather than higher. Maybe 1/8th of an inch ideally.
The press should handle that unless it is old and very used or maybe not such a good build.

I've also had this happen with an older screen that loosing it's tension.
