I'm going to start printing tags on the inside of the shirt. Just wanted to see if others have done this and any tips or tricks they have learned to make this easier.
My biggest worry is bleeding through to the back of the shirt. I've heard from guys that run huge shops, doing 6,000+ tags a day to use cool gray 6 and hit it twice lightly through a 110 and it'll come out great every time. So that's what I'm going to start with.
But if anyone has idea, let them flow!!

Re: Printing Tags
I think that is some good advice you got there. If you feel it is still printing too much ink or a bleed through the shirt is possible you can always bump up to a higher mesh count.
I do tags like that once in a while so I use a light gray as well and I use a soft stroke. Also the artwork can help too. I think line art with thinner lines works best. Dots won’t work well due to the larger knit that tends to be on the inside of the garment.
I have a little bench press from RANAR I can designate for that sort of thing too. It's nice to leave it set up.

Re: Printing Tags
Not a printing comment but a legal one instead. I've read that if you are printing your own tags you must include the material and origin of manufacture of shirt. Such as:
ApeShirt Apparel
100% Cotton
Made in Haiti
ApeShirt Apparel

Re: Printing Tags
Thanks for the info Greg. I planned on putting it on there anyway, but it's good to know. Especially where it was made. When I get some prototypes made, I'll post some pictures.

Re: Printing Tags
Yes, great point Greg. I only tag for getting more print jobs so I leave all original tags or information intact and print my company name and phone number just for print job referrals. But if you're doing branding and removing all other tags then Greg makes an excellent point.

Re: Printing Tags
the most popular option for us to print tags is to use a grey shade of ink. we have had customers request dark colored inks on light colored shirts, but when we tell them that it has the tendency to bleed through then they change their mind. I know this may be common sense to printers, but we would definitely suggest letting your customers know!
