Terry,
I thought that's what you meant about the talk. I've had the luxury also of going slow and learning as much as I can first instead of just diving in head first. It's a luxury many people don't have. Again, I can't stress enough of being persistent with out of area printers. You may not get anywhere but maybe you will. I got my equipment new but when I upgrade I am going that route. Maybe try hitting up local bands. Some try to print their own stuff but often it doesn't work out for them. Many people think it's so easy to print a shirt and buy equipment without educating themselves so they fail. Just some thoughts. Networking goes a long ways. Good luck!

If you're not going to go all the way then why bother going at all.

It’s my pleasure to help out in any way. And I do understand where you are coming from. Many people have limited space as well as money and they do the best they can.

What ApeShirt said about used equipment is true. Many people think it's much easier to print tee shirts and buy the works only to sell it at a loss. There should be a lot of equipment on CL unless you live in a very isolated area. Try the nearest large city in your area that you can drive to. There has to be used screen printing equipment available somewhere near you.

As for pricing the only way to make a profit is to be able to print the highest quality product with the most ease in the shortest time. That way you make more per hour. When first starting out it is very difficult to do this so you will always have to put more time into a project until you work out your process and make it easier and faster. But as long as you’re making a profit based on the materials you put into the job then it’s only your production time that needs to be reduced.

You can see my pricing and policies here which are based on a Gildan 5000 short sleeve tee shirt:
