Discharge curing

Just a quick question on discharge curing is it possible to discharge using a heat press

You know I have never done but if you semi cure the discharge print with a heat gun or flash cure unit to remove moisture first and then use a Teflon sheet to protect the printed area in the heat press it may work. The deal is that the discharge vapors have to be able to escape the fabric as it is cured.

Try this:

After printing the discharge ink let the tee shirt stand for a few seconds. Then place it under a flash unit for approximately 10 to 15 seconds to remove any excess moisture.

Move the garment onto a heat press and place a Teflon sheet over the design. Set the machine to 350° at high pressure for 10-15 seconds. The level of discharge can be controlled in this way by adjusting the time in the heat press. The longer the time, the more intense the discharge effect will be.

Then simply peel the Teflon sheet off of the finished garment.

I hope that helps out. Anyone else have any experience with this?
