Printing Halftone Video
Johnathan, do you have a "Halftone" printing video? Start to finish?

Re: Printing Halftone Video
No, not as of yet. I don’t think any one of my videos is start to finish. Remember I can’t teach artwork creation because I am no expert graphic artist. So I plan on doing a 1 color halftone video with film positives for black and white shirts and I will be doing a 4 color spot and dot which combines halftones with spot colors.
But also remember that I am a working shop. I have to do many other things besides making videos to really earn a living. The videos do not earn enough money for me to spend the time to create nonpaying print jobs just for videos.
So in order to do a CMYK print I would need a job or a reason to go through all the work to make a video.
But stay tuned for the 1 color halftone video. It will include as much art information as possible considering I probably don’t know what I am doing with the graphic software. Meaning I can get what I need but the way I do it is probably ass backwards
I also let my brother do a lot of artwork for me since I am so busy doing evrything else.

Re: Printing Halftone Video
If you’re doing true CMYK then you would use a 305 or 355 mesh. For simple 1 color halftones we might use a 200 or 230 mesh count. The reason being is that the dot for CMYK should be much smaller than for a 1 color halftone.
We might run a 1 color halftone at 40 or 45 lpi and a CMYK job may be at 60 lpi or higher. For smaller dot we need higher mesh counts.
Generally speaking anyway.
