trouble locking screen in place

Post by rms21040 »

I'm currently working with a 4 color/2 station and am having slight problems getting my screen to stay in place as i turn the knobs. I have seen that the ranar presses have some sort of bar where it clamps down onto the screen but mine however is the two bolts with nuts on the end. Basically when i tighten down it will cause the screen to wiggle around. iv played a little with creating a mod that resembles the ranar arm but havnt had much success. has anyone been in my shoes here and have any suggestions? appreciate any input, thanks!

Thanks Jonathan, i wouldn't have made a post if i would have known you made a video addressing this exact topic haha. This has been a very serious problem for me setting limits to my progress as i wiggle my way into the world of screen printing. I cant help but slightly regret not going with a ranar press, the clamp feature seems to be a must. From here i will continue trying to make a mod to my own press similar to the bite clamp and also trying to "understand" the press and offset before clamping down. Thanks for your time!
