I can't remember if Catspit put out a video of printing onto textiles other than T-shirts, or even printing on non textiles.
I have seen several shops around the UK where you choose a design and it is heat pressed onto a shirt, hoodie or baseball (trucker?) cap in front of you.
Basically the transfer seems to have been screen printed rather than it being a dye sub transfer.
I can see the benefit of having loads of transfers to print onto IF you owned a shop as it cuts down on printed inventory requiring a stock of unprinted clothing and transfers only. I imagine this also means that with a transfer, other non textile items could also be printed.
This leads onto my question, which is about screen printing hats.
I can visualise that using the transfer method you could screen print a hat design onto paper, then cut the paper down to fit the printable area on the hat.
But how is a Baseball/trucker/peaked cap directly?
Is it some special screen with thin walls where the peak meets the print area . How is it done. Any chance of a video on it sometime please Jonathan?

Yes, actually I will be coming back from he shows this August with a cap printing system for the Vista RANAR press I have. I’ll be doing a video how you can print baseball caps directly on a manual rotary screen printing textile press.
Come see me at the NBM show in Long Beach this August. I’ll be with RANAR in the AM all 3 days... http://www.issshows.com/long-beach/
Come see me at the ISS show in Las Vegas this August. I’ll be with RANAR in the AM all 3 days... http://www.issshows.com/las-vegas/
I would not screen print heat transfers to press to hats because they always have adhesion issues. so direct screen printing of five panel baseball caps is best. Six panel hats are best embroidered.
Stay tuned I’ll post the video on this thread when I do it in a month or so.

I'm working on it. Thanks for reminding me. The stuff is in Texas I think as it was not ready for me when I was there.
But I'll get it and do a video for sure. I'll check on this tomorrow.
