QUERIES ON EXPOSURE UNIT

Here you can discuss issues related to exposing screens for screen printing. This includes determining the exposure, light sources and washing out the stencil in the washout booth. Emulsion issues may also be addressed here.

Most emulsions are only responsive to UV light. Therefore ideally we use either metal halide bulbs, black lamp industrial fluorescent bulbs or UV LED strips. Low wattage work lamps put some UV light out but it's low making the exposure times longer. And they can radiate excessive heat which can also cure emulsion. I would use black lamp industrial fluorescent bulbs or UV LED strips.

Those lights will have UV light at or above 300 nano meters in wavelength. That's what you would want.
