Screen tension

I bilt screen frames for my 4 color press, my question is how do I know how tight to stretch the mesh without buying a tension meter. Thank youcork

I suppose that is a matter of feel for me. I remember stretching screens by hand without a tension meter when I was in high school. I just knew the feel for the mesh count and pulled as tight as I could before tearing the mesh. I think that’s basically it.

You may have to try one or 2 to see where things might tear. Maybe someone else has a method other than experience you could use
