need help choosing a mesh screen

Post by heddadaninian »

Hi,
I am working with a vendor in China who is unclear as to how to choose a mesh screen. We would like to do a 300 dpi design/ repeat, but he is having a lot of trouble and questions. We want to print black ink on a dark purple ground. I've been working on this with him for over 3 weeks and he is just not wrapping his head around it. I've sent him you video and would like to offer some further assistance. Please see attached and let me know if there is anything else I can do and or say to get this job completed.

One million thank you's,
Heather Denis

If you're talking about screen mesh count and LPI then we really don't go that high with screen printing. DPI is for digital imaging. But LPI is lines per inch for halftone screens. Here is a general reference.

35 LPI maybe 160 mesh
45 LPI maybe 200 or 230 mesh
55 to 75 LPI maybe 305 or 355
80 to 95 LPI maybe 400 mesh or higher if available.

That's just an off the top of my head generalization.
