If it is printed as line art and spot colors it might run on a 125 or a 156 depending on the detail in the line work. If you use some halftones at 35 to 45 lpi a 200 mesh should do the trick.

As for the ink you’ll want to use textile products made for fabrics. Use inks made for 100% cotton or polyester or whatever it is you are printing on.

I hope that helps some. good luck and thanks for posting on the forum.

No calculation really, just experience. A 1 color halftone or a duotone of 35 to 45 LPI would work on a 200 mesh maybe even lower if need be. You can use no angle and tilt the film on the screen or you could use an angle. Maybe 15 degrees if you wanted to. The lower the LPI the less you need to worry about that because the dot gets bigger. Here is a more in depth look at halftones:

The ink used is a choice up to you:

The image you have of the knight’s helmet could be done on a 110 mesh if it is a spot color design. Here is more on types of artwork:

That should help out.

Very cool info there Jon!!, I wonder how can we be aware of this articles when you put them out on your web site? you know, searching for that kind of tips turns a little bit hard to find  (I konw! we all have to READ and READ and READ jajaja) or are all those articles already uploaded, I mean there's no more upcoming articles to be uploaded into your web site? or how does it works?

All articles are already posted on the website here:

http://www.catspitproductionsllc.com/sc ... chive.html

Currently I have no plans for new articles as I am busy working on some DVD’s. I plan on finishing the Superstore DVD and then do one of my own.

But the articles when published will be posted to Facebook and Twitter. Otherwise you’ll need to use the search function on the website.

In the top right hand corner of the main website there is a search box. It searches the website URL, forum URL and the Catspit Blog URL. That is where you can do searches for specific information. It just takes a little time to peruse as the website is now very large.

The Superstore DVD will be a video tutorial for their new starter kit. Then I hope to begin producing a series of DVD's for the Catspit audience.

Yes, I think the Superstore DVD will be available for sale without the kit. My DVD's will of course be available on the Catspit website when ready.

Stay tuned!
