TOUR SHIRT WALKTHROUGH - Part 4 - Mesh

Post by upperhandprinting »

I could have talked about this in the section about separations, but I did it here because it relates to mesh count. When I halftoned the image, I looked at what screens I was going to use and then halftoned it with that information in mind. The red and orange layers had the most halftones, so I decided to use my 305 mesh on those two screens. The other two colors had some halftones but not many, so I used the highest mesh I had which happened to be 195. Then for my white underbase, I again used the highest I had which was a 160. In retrospect, I would've loved to use 305 on all of the screens, but that wasn't possible so I did what I could.

When I set up the halftones, I did 45 lpi elliptical dots on the 305 meshes, and 35 lpi on the 195 and 160 meshes.

The Walkthrough continues under "Exposing & washing out stencil".
