Hey all - It's been a while

This is the place to talk about what it takes to get started. This would include what equipment to buy, space requirements, electrical needs and anything related to getting ready to begin screen printing. Have a question regarding what it takes to screen print tee shirts? Please post them here...

Hey all - It's been a while

Hope this is the right plce to post, cant find a member introcuction place, admin please move if appropriate.

It's been a while, at least a year and a half since I last visited or posted.

Finances meant I had to go and get a job as a wage slave.

Still doing it, don't like the shift work but the money is the draw.

Just got the bug to start printing again, I have an Epson Workforce for printing and a single station in the garage somewehere and thought about maybe making a few single colour t's and testing the market via ebay to see if things have picked up enough to make a living.
I dont have the money or space for one of those fancy print and cut machines or a DTG printer that seems to be the rage at the moment.

A change of computer has meant I have lost all of my artwork and software but everything is rebuildable.

How's everyone doing? I see some of the old crowd are still members, how are you hope your businesses arfe booming although I havn't seen anyone in the forbes rich list yet LoL.

Johnathan, the web site is really big these days, well done.

Hello Boyd,

The forum is still active and alive but none of the older regulars post much anymore it seems. Once in a while yes, but other than that it's mostly new people. It's difficult to manage and maintain the forum so I guess its functions are somewhat lame for some. But I really cannot dump a bunch of money into it unfortunately.

Good to hear from you. Glad you found some time to print again. Losing your computer sucks. I hate when I have to reboot one. I try to keep everything backed up but it's always a major pain.

Glad you're enjoying my websites. The "Mother" site needs some work. I'll get on it again soon. Been pretty busy.

Best wishes!

Thanks for the reply Jonathan,
I am sorry to hear that us old timers don't stick around as much. I am sure it's nothing personal it is more to do with finding time I suppose.
I do hope that you keep the forum going though.

I'll try to keep coming back :D

Hey Boyd and Jonathan! Like many I had some life changes and unfortunately had to get rid of all my screen printing equipment just a few months after finally purchasing my first used but nice 4 color manual press. I am just doing small scale dye sub now as it is all I can fit in our small temporary living space. I really miss printing and truly appreciate all the help this forum gave and Jonathan's videos and help! I hope to one day get up and running again but for now it is back to just a regular thing, I just started on a career path I was pursuing years ago. Completed my first week of training yesterday with my new career, unfortunately I cannot give details but it is in a civilian position within a form of law enforcement. The pay is low but I am in it for the service, I know my hard work will provide!
I will try to pop in more often!

Hi Leadfoot, so good to hear from you.

You have to roll with the punches and as they say one door opens as another door closes so you go for it full on.

Heres hoping you enjoy everything you do and maybe make a few bucks on the side printing when life settles down into a regular patern.

Good luck and stay in touch
Boyd

It's all good. I think it's normal. Everyone's lives change and needs become different or priorities change. I think the forum is quiet more because it is pretty basic. It has its issues... LOL.

But I am always here for anyone who may need me, whenever they may need me. I'll keep the forum up as long as I'm in business but I may not be able to do much with it unfortunately. I wish I could though :)

I appreciate your support!

Hey there! It's good to hear from you. Glad you're still doing some sublimation work. That process can actually be a lot of fun since you can do a lot of novelty items as well. But printing may be more gratifying ;) I'm glad my videos and forum have been bale to help you out.

Good luck and best wishes on your new work. Let me know if I can help out anytime.

I'm not sure. The forum has been pretty quite lately.
