Adding screen printing to my business

This is the place to talk about what it takes to get started. This would include what equipment to buy, space requirements, electrical needs and anything related to getting ready to begin screen printing. Have a question regarding what it takes to screen print tee shirts? Please post them here...

Hi Shawn.

I wonder if you could tell me if the Printa 770 worked out for you as I am thinking about investing in the same system. Have there been any downsides of this all-in-one system or has it delivered in terms of what it offers.

Many thanks,

I never used that system myself but I know many people who have. It is very expensive and for the money I can sell you twice the equipment and you could have a complete commercial shop. I know space is a consideration for some but you could still do much better buying actual screen printing equipment instead of an "all in one" "screen printing in a can" system.

I would seriously reconsider such a system. Please call me if you have any questions I might answer. You don't have to worry I am not a salesman. I am an educator first and then if I can help out with equipment that's great. If not hopefully I can teach you what you need to know to make an educated decision at the very least.

Well, 3 years later. How do you like the Printa 770? I am looking into one and curious to hear your thoughts on the press.

I'm also gonna be doing sublimation on mugs and hats and of course tees! i saw a press that does all three. Is this ok to get because it is an all in one thing or should i get individual presses that do each separately?
Not to up sell but there is a reason why I do not offer the all-in-one made by Ikonix/RiCOMA. Usually the wires and connections give problems after switching in and out over time. Especially with an imported unit. Maybe a brand name all-in-one may work out better. Or perhaps someone can suggest an all-in-one they have had a good experience with.

I have been selling the Ikonix/RiCOMA dedicated heat presses for almost 9 years now and I have never had a warranty issue or a return. So I know I can trust these Chinese imports. But as I said, I still prefer not to sell the all-in-one. That's my humble opinion on the matter :)
