New to the Screenprinting "Lingo"

This is the place to talk about what it takes to get started. This would include what equipment to buy, space requirements, electrical needs and anything related to getting ready to begin screen printing. Have a question regarding what it takes to screen print tee shirts? Please post them here...

I've only ever heard the term "curing" used in reference to inks, not to the screen. The person who said it may have meant making sure that the emulsion on a screen is dried before trying to expose an image on it, perhaps, but I've never heard of it referred to like that.

That sounds like could be the correct definition to that word. Thanks!

Yes actually emulsion can and may be referred to as cured or fully cured. Technically it is like the ink curing in that polymers cross link when exposed to light and “cure.” It’s very similar in the way the plasticizers in plastisol inks cure when exposed to heat which causes it to “dry and rubberize” the ink.

So yes, you may hear emulsion or stencils being referenced as cured, under cured, and the use of cure or curing would be appropriate too.

Did I forget any usage that would be appropriate? LOL ;)
