Using Wordart to create artwork

Post by kajun1950 »

For quick and dirty lettering try using wordart in Word. There is a plugin(?) called SVGMaker, costs about $50 but it creates a virtual printer that will output your word document as an SVG file that can then be sent to any vector device. I use it to send text to my plotter to cut heat transfer vinyl, works great.

Can you post a couple pictures to show what you mean? Maybe one at the beginning and then the end result.

Here PDF of same text, straight, then two textbook wordart. All done in word then exported to a SVG using SVGMaker, a $50 software that emulates a printer. Converts anything "printed" to a vector file. Wordart offers million different variations in seconds.

Sounds like a cool alternative, thanks for sharing. If the emulator creates a decent vector file then that can be very useful.

Yeah and Word does do some cool text manipulation. If you can use it why not?

Cool stuff.
