Online Screen Printer Scam Warning

Post by Catspit Productions »

This is from a customer of ours here at Catspit Productions, LLC. We thought we would share this with you all as we have received the same type of email scam as well:

“Hey screen printers and follow decorators. There's a scam out there I usually get phished for at least 4-5 times a month. The scam goes like this.

You'll be contacted by the scammer asking if you can screen print or decorated a large sum of tee shirts, usually a passage from the bible, and a simple one color job. They'll say they have the t-shirts and just want you to decorate them.

Or, the scammers ask to purchase a large sum of blank t-shirts without any decoration.

The scammer(s) will use a stolen credit card to pay you. The way they get paid is they will ask you to pay or wire transfer money via Western Union to their "delivery driver" that only accepts cash, or something along those lines. Wiring the money is untraceable, so they get away free and clear.

However, once the person who owns the stolen credit card realizes there is an unauthorized charge on their account, they reverse the charge, since you'll have accepted the payment without the card being present, and you're left out of a large sum of money.

Beware of clients with no real solid contact information, broken English, improper grammar, no use of caps and punctuation, text messages about your services, and customers that won't answer or give you the phone tag run around.

Be careful out there!”
