Review: Dry Stencil Print Job

Post by Leadfoot »

I just did a print job for 65 total hoodies with a front and back print. 35 hoodies had white ink and the other 30 had black ink, so I had to do a color change after the white.

The dry stencil's held up very well for the job! There was a total of 260 passes of ink through the stencil, not including test prints to make sure all was well, which is a lot and some may be concerned that the dry stencil will not hold up. THEY ARE WRONG! :) You do have to watch for pin holes that will show up during the print run, I just take a small piece of clear tape to plug it up to not have to wat for the block out to dry. I am confident I could have printed another 65 hoodies with the same screens. Clean up for a color change is very difficult and you have to be careful what you use so you do not break down the stencil. I usually use RhinoTech's PWG305 I believe it is, their version of Bean-e-doo, but much better! I did have some of the white ink mix with the black but it was not enough to make a difference. You can use some creative taping off of the screen to assist in getting the ink off but I was in a hurry.

I see you are having great success with the dry stencil so maybe you can tell me what I am doing wrong. Ihave had zero luck on getting the first process to work. I bought a new brother laser printer, I have tryed three different heat presses and still cant get the adhesive sheet to apply to the design correctly. I have tryed the different times and pressure. Please help. If you can email me direction for the process you use. Thanks, Rick
