Screenprinting Tee Shirts: Viewer Created Artwork Submission Test Print

Okay so here it is. The long awaited video for one of our viewer submitted pieces of artwork created for Catspit Productions, LLC. A big thanks and shout out to Amal Muhammed for providing the artwork for use in this video and for making some freebies to give away. Stay tuned for the giveaway video for this print……

Here’s a fun collaboration video I did with a screen printing artist from Indonesia. His name is Amal Muhammed and he created an awesome piece of screenprinting artwork for us to use in a video for YouTube. This is a very cool tutorial video because we get to look at a piece of artwork that has gradations and tonal ranges that were not created with RIP software. In fact this art was done in Photoshop without RIP software. It’s a cool effect that resembles stippling in hand drawings. So it’s a great example of how you can do gradations and tonal ranges without RIP by using some old school Photoshop effects or even hand drawn art with manually created gradations like stippling, crosshatching and more. This tutorial screenprinting video is also highly educational because we take a look at 2 different test prints from 2 different screens. In this video we made the stencil on a 160 mesh screen with an LED exposure unit at about 12 seconds. Then after printing the test print I realized I had lost some critical information and I did a second screen on 160 mesh at 10 seconds while I took more time to pay attention to details in the washout booth. That made all the difference and it’s what makes this educational screen printing video one of the best out there. But I may be biased….. LOL ;) Enjoy!
