Design duration on the screen

Post by JIWA228 »

Hi guys!
Its good to be here..
I saw on the web that now in the market appeared panel frames with ready to fit mesh screens.
So I believe its this mesh is reusable pretty handy stuff. Whats your opinion about this product?
My question is..for how long does stencil design stay on the regular mesh before it wares down and its not fit for printing,
cause mine one got hoes after first wash. Then i had to reclaim screen and do it all over again. Any tips?s
Thanks guys!
Looking forward to hear from you.

All the Best,

Yes, I think you are referring to the roller frames and other frames that self-stretch premade mesh panels. There are many brands and I am about to test out one made by a good friend of mine. I think we have a very cool frame with mesh panels that will stretch on the frame.

And they will be comparable in pricing to static metal frames! Stay tuned for more on that as I get the product in and start working with it.

If you make a stencil using direct liquid emulsions and cure them properly the stencil should last for thousands of prints. If you are finding that you get pinholes after printing and cleaning the screen once then I would look at your screen making procedures.

Dust or debris in the coating process may appear at any time during screen usage.
Under exposed emulsion may also break down over repeated usages.
Also aggressive solvents or chemicals can cause premature stencil breakdown.

Check out this video on pinholes. It may help a bit:
