I'm a complete newbie to this business. I've been doing small local jobs for delis and schools for about a year. I just got an inquiry about printing on dispodable lab coats for a summer program. I know the material is some kind of thin polypropylene . Is this something I can do with water based ink ? It's a simple 1 color chest piece about 4x3".

Any advice is greatly appreciated !

Sometimes I get busy so you have to allow me some time to check on things here. I would probably think there is an air dry “water based” or solvent type ink you could use for that. I would call an ink manufacturer like Nazdar or Dubuit and speak with an ink consultant. Tell them the material, thin polypropylene lab coats, and they will suggest ink to use or test.

I’ll bet those could be pad printed too. But that is not something I have printed so check with some ink people. They know their stuff for this type of question. They will also be able to tell you where to get the ink you may need.
