cleanup time

I am relatively new to screen printing and have a very small fledgeling operation that I run out of my kitchen and I was wondering, what are you guys' favorite products for cleaning up? What products do you use to clean your screens after a print run (I am currently using Speedball and Versatex inks, both water-based)? What do you keep on hand to clean up spills and to get ink off your hands, your press, etc.

Hope I am not covering old ground, and many thanks.

Well I use mostly plastisol inks but I do print with water based and solvent based inks now and then. I normally stock either solvents from Saati made for those inks or I will use paint thinner.

Thinner smells is flammable and can be aggressive on surfaces. But it works very well for general cleanup with these inks. Water based textile or poster inks may or may not clean up with water. You have to check with the maker on those specifications and many “water based” inks have other solvents in them which may require more than water to clean up.
