Here you can discuss any issues related to working with water based screen printing inks. This would include curing, heat setting, mixing colors, additives, brands, usages and much more.

Ink Retarder....

Post by ph0t0bug »

I am using Jacquard Water Based ink and Im currently having problems with the ink drying to quickly. While I would love to go purchase some ink retarder I am out of $$ until I get this job done. So my question is I have heard of people using vegetable glycerine as a retarder..... anyone know anything about that?

That I have never heard of. But you should probably be able to look it up online if it has been done often enough maybe. Sounds like it could work if vegetable glycerine is oily and doesn't dry or dires slow. The thing is how does it affect the cure and the bond? Where did you hear about it?
