Re: Trying to silkscreen on glass.
Trying to silkscreen on glass. Want to use the inkjet film but am unsure what to do after the design is printed on the film. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Start by watching the catspit videos. Your question is like asking "I have a can of gass how do I drive a car". Sorry if...

Re: emulsion problem
Honestly.....Getting the image to wash out /right exposure is probably the most critical part of the process. I find it funny how no one ever uses a exposure calculator. They are under 20.00 and will solve sooooooo many problems. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UPRYQY7P2M To answre your question it ...

Re: Emulsion Coating problems
I am not sure if this is the right place for this topic, but here goes. I am using a scoop coater to coat my screens. When I coat a 110 mesh it coats perfectly but when I coat a 230 mesh, the centre portion of the screen is coated much thicker than the outer edges. This means that the centre sectio...

Re: LOOKING FOR NON TOXIC EMULSION, POSSIBLY FDA APPROVED?
I am a pastry chef/choclatier and I am using the screen printing process to make cocoa butter transfers for chocolates. Can anyone recommend an emulsion that could be used for this purpose. Thanks for any help Debra I cannot tell you we have a FDA aproved emulsion but I can tell you many company th...

Re: Screening Vinyl Stickers
Not to hijack this thread but Catspit is right. Typically vinyl stickers are a little more forgiving to get ink to adhere to. Most graphics solvent based inks will work for pressure sensitive vinyl. Coroplast is an animal that is totaly different. So much so that most mfg make a ink that is speciffi...

Re: First test print. What have I done wrong?
I would take a look at the films. I suspect they are not dark enough.
Or the ohter typical culptrits. Exposed too long, not washed long enough, or not enough contact betweent he film and the screen.

Re: Scrubbing pads for the reclaiming process?
Scrubbing pads. They are not all created equal. The ones to get have a chemical resistant adhesive gluing them to the holder. The ones that have the replacable pad are great but they tend to let go of the pad at the wrong time and then you end up trashing a screen. There are a couple of decent mfg o...

Re: Emulsion not fully washing out :/
This is caused by a couple of things. The positive is not dens(dark enough), You dont have good enough contact betwwen the emulsion the positive and the glass, you have exposed it tooo long in the exposure unit , or a combination of all 3.

Re: Yellow Spots
I just ran some of these anvil camo shirts last week. The bleed was insane. Check with your mfg of ink to see if they have a antibleed base to put down first. that was the only thing that saved me on this job.
Yes it ads a step but .... I would rather do that than eat a few dozen shirts.
