Supply shop request(s)
As a Catspit patron and someone who prefers shopping with Jonathan (and thus supporting the further production of videos to help the community), I figured I'd start what will hopefully be a "go to" thread for people who have requests of stuff they'd like to see available in the Catspit Scr...

Re: Positioning an image on a t-shirt
For a front print, I usually do it "three fingers down" from the bottom of the collar on the shirt (about 3-ish inches). It's worked for me so far.

Re: need a flash dryer
Welcome to the forums, Brandon. Since you're posting in the Classified forums, are you looking for a used one? Or are you looking to find one a little cheaper than most of the "new" prices? Jonathan has several great flashes available at the Catspit Screen Print Supply shop . I can persona...

Re: Thick Printing or 3D Printing
The Puff additive is heat activated, so you'll have to hit it with something. I don't know if you need forced air to do it (like from a heat gun or forced air flash) but it needs something to activate. Before I got my Ranar forced air flash, I cured with a Wagner heat gun. Just make sure you keep it...

Only about an hour and a half from me, but my current setup doesn't have room. Thanks for the heads-up though!

Re: Thick Printing or 3D Printing
Welcome to the forum, Derek! It sounds like "puff ink" may be along the lines of what you're looking for. Jonathan did a video on using puff additives a while back so you can see the kind of effect you get when using it.

Re: Image Doesn't Spray Out Completely.
If it's not washing out, it sounds like the halftones are getting overexposed. For any kind of halftone work like this, if your friend does the design at 45 LPI, you'll probably want to use a 230 mesh screen for your blue. Also, I'm not sure what you're using to expose with (vacuum unit, overhead la...

Re: Materials/ink on metal?
You *can* screen print onto a metal substrate, but it requires specialty inks and also often requires a strongly solvent-resistant emulsion for your stencil. Most often, I hear of people using Nazdar brand inks for specialty jobs like this.

Re: Yellow Spots
Welcome to the forums! Try uploading or linking a picture of the problem you're seeing, and maybe we can help narrow down what's causing it. Also, are the inks you're using waterbased or plastisol, and what brand?

Re: is it even possible?
That kit is the same on I got, and no, it's not upgradable. It's a pretty simple, no frills 1-color press. The only way you'll be able to do more than one color with it is if you place two or more inks on the screen side-by-side and try to print with them. If you're wanting to do jobs that require m...
