Re: Numbers, Adhesives, Coverage, & 2 color Transfers

We'll do a bunch of tests to see what works best. But as far as thickness, it's actually okay with hockey jerseys as most actually like that feeling. Because of pro jerseys being embroidered patches and stiff, people like feeling like a pro. ;) Thanks guys! I'll let you know what we find that works ...

Textile PV

Two questions Are you able to use this with discharge inks? The shop I work in uses chromablue, but when I'm doing my own printing there, I use Saati Textil PV. I like it and know my exposure times. They coat screens with the lights on. It's not daylight, just fluorescent lighting in the shop. They ...

Numbers, Adhesives, Coverage, & 2 color Transfers

I work at a print shop that does hockey jerseys. We're looking in to printing our own number transfers. We'd love to get in to printing the NHL fonts as no where really offers that service. It's quite an undertaking, but if we can get the process perfected, doing the different screens wouldn't be an...

Re: Skateboard Transfer Paper

Thanks! After a bit of research, it looks like most people use naz dar 2700. It works well on wood and is water based so it'll dry without curing. I would still use a clear sealant over it to protect it. I'm going to try and build some screens and a press in a month or so. I'll post it on this threa...

Re: TOUR SHIRT WALKTHROUGH - Part 9 - Conclusion

There's a section in each part of the forum. Just check around. They all have the same title so it's easy to find. I used photoshop to separate the colors. Under the "printing the shirts" section it talks about the inks and such. It's a 4 spot color front and 2 spit color back. No cmyk. Ju...

Re: Skateboard Transfer Paper

Thanks for the info. Do you think a plastisol transfer would work on wood? I'm guessing curing would become an issue. Ive found plans to print directly on the boards with a curved screen. Exposing will be tough though. I'm guessing I'll need 3 light sources to cover all of the angles. Any ideas on m...

Re: Hoodies

I'm definitely looking to get away from spray tack, but was looking at pallet tape as an option. How messy/expensive is it? Hopefully I'll have my stuff set up soon so I can try it out. It sounds like a good deal.

Re: Hoodies

When I do hoodies, I use normal spray tack. But I have a friend that sits by the press and pulls the slack down so it doesn't lift up. It works well for us, but does slow down production quite a bit. Just depends on how many you need to do.

Skateboard Transfer Paper

Hello all, I'm interested in printing skateboards. Not necessarily for my business, but more for a hobby. There are two methods I've found. The first is building a frame to match the angles of the skateboard and screen printing directly on it. It would require building a press, and besides the build...

Washout Booth Waste

I wanted to get some ideas on washout booths and how to deal with the water. I will be printing in my home and garage and am not sure how to handle it. I have a homemade washout booth with a drain and hose attached so I can direct the water wherever I need it to go. I know different states and citie...
