Has anyone ever done anything like this? Or even seen a US vendor that sells plattens like this? I think it's pretty rad, but it sucks that I can only find this in China.

Yes, I believe so. They were just generic beanies you can find anywhere. No very easy to keep tached to the pallet but they worked out good. Had to watch the cure time VERY carefully. Nice.
