emulsion thickness

Hi. How thick an emulsion should be used? Once on each side enough, or slightly thicker on the print side? Whats the verdict? Thanks.

Re: white plastisol ink

Thanks. The detail won't be too fine. I will mostly use 110 mesh. MAYBE 156 on occasion. MOSTLY 110.

white plastisol ink

Hey! Is there any white plastisol ink in the known universe, to be used on black shirts, which does not require flashing while printing? You know, the PRINT-FLASH-PRINT thing? Is there ANY white ink which only needs to be cured after printing? I guess,THE MOST opaque white ink is what I'm looking for...

Re: white ink

I'll most likely use 110 or 156 screens on 100% black cotton. I guess black inks are any easier choice. There is a supply house just down the road from me called PERFORMANCE in NJ. I guess I can just get some black ink down there. I'm just doing B & W ink for now. I'm doing up my own shirts with...

white ink

Hi.
I've been watching your vids, but, what would you say is THE most opaque white ink. I'd much rather just have one pass, and then flash cure it, then to have to F-P-F. Know what I mean? Thanks.

Re: 110 or 156

General rule of thumb is the higher the mesh count the less ink passes through the screen. Therefor, you may have to hit it more in order to lay enough ink to meet your needs. The more open the mesh count, the more ink it will lay. 110 mesh is generally good for simple spot color, such as text. The...

110 or 156

Hi. I'm doing some fine text about 72 point (one inch high) and just wondering what would be best mesh count. I saw Ryan from Ryonet say that try to use the highest count possible because it saves on ink. I guess you want a balance between ink use and ink coverage. Black ink on white would cover mor...

inkjet transparencies

Howdy do. I've done this before with a camera and an enlarger, but, not with a computer and an inkjet printer. I've made halftone images with a small screen that has dots on it to make an image have some shading to it. But, what is the best way to do this with modern tools and software? I have PS El...

Re: When to use a High Opacity ink

Hey, JM. Are you familiar with Bill Hood and his high tech squeegee and his use of the push method of screenprinting? It seems to work well as far as putting down white ink onto black cotton. He also recs a thick emulsion stencil. Something like 3 passes on the print side (bottom), and 2 passes on t...
